P-1B Visa

The P-1B visa is for members of an internationally recognized entertainment group who are coming to the U.S. to perform as part of that group. The group must be recognized for a high level of achievement in the entertainment industry.

Who is the Visa for?

  • Musicians and singers in internationally recognized groups

  • Actors, dancers, or other performers in internationally recognized ensembles

  • Support personnel who are essential to the group’s performance

Eligibility Requirements

  • The entertainment group must be internationally recognized as outstanding for a sustained period

  • At least 75% of the group’s members must have had a substantial and sustained relationship with the group for at least 1 year

  • Recognition must be evidenced by a high level of skill and achievement significantly above that ordinarily encountered

Visa Duration:

  • Initial period: Up to 1 year to perform in a specific event, competition, or performance

  • Extensions: Increments of 1 year to continue or complete the same event or performance

Processing Time:

  • Premium Processing: 15 business days (Form I-907)
